Air quality data collected every 5 minutes via a network of sensors deployed throughout the city. The devices record particulate matter (PM2.5), temperature and humidity. Although you can develop an application using this data, we recommend you use the real time API located at: https://winnipeg-aq-sta.sensorup.com/v1.0 (Developer documentation here http://developers.sensorup.com/docs/) as this data is collected for historical purposes.

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) provides for the legal right of access to records held by the City of Winnipeg and protects privacy and personal information by limiting the ways that the City can collect, use, and disseminate personal information.

As part of its commitment to greater transparency and accountability, the City of Winnipeg publishes details of applications received for access to records under Part 2 of FIPPA. Responses to the applications are posted unless the application was for personal information, or was abandoned, withdrawn, or transferred.

FIPPA sets out the exclusions and exceptions to disclosure, as well as the other statutes that prevail over FIPPA (https://web2.gov.mb.ca/laws/statutes/ccsm/f175.php). When an exclusion, exception, or other statute is relied upon to refuse access, the response letter to the applicant includes the section number from the legislation (e.g. section 17 or s.17). The City of Winnipeg’s Human Resources dataset represents information on our former and current complement of employee’s. Reports are generated on an annual basis based on our active complement as of December 31st, each calendar year. Metrics are currently being supplied by City, by Union and by Department on an annual basis. In the future we may expand our dataset to include prior years, alternate viewing types and a number of new metrics.

Due to FIPPA legislative requirements our Departments and/or Union Groups have been rolled up where the head count is less than 10. If a metric was being displayed that could lead to the identification of an individual it has been removed.

Exclusions: The City of Winnipeg HR Dataset does not include any employees of the Winnipeg Civic Employees’ Benefits program.

This dataset is a meta-data evaluation of the public datasets on the Open Data portal. Each public dataset is evaluated based on a variety of topics, and assigned a score between 0 and 100.
The datasets are assigned a meta data attribute based on the following scores:
• 0-70: Bronze
• 71-80: Silver
• 81-100: Gold
