On September 21st, 2020, the City of Winnipeg began using the Voting Information System to record votes at Executive Policy Committee meetings as part of an ongoing commitment to greater openness and transparency. Please visit https://winnipeg.ca/council/VIS for more information.

On February 22, 2018 Council adopted the Code of Conduct for Members of Council. The purpose of the Code is to establish and promote ethical conduct standards which are essential to the fair and effective operation of government.

Council Members must provide the Integrity Commissioner with a quarterly Disclosure Statement identifying the receipt of any gift or benefit connected to the performance of the Member’s duties of office. These statements are a matter of public record.

On April 26, 2017 Council approved the implementation of a voluntary lobbyist registry. The purpose of the registry is to provide transparency on lobbying activities in the City of Winnipeg

Lobbyists are not required by legislation to register their activities; however registration on a voluntary basis is encouraged in order to enhance the transparency and integrity of business conducted.
